Why is it important in online business and why should I even care?
Should I use one for my business?
Is it a scam thing?
Capture/Squeeze Page Defined:
- Squeeze pages are landing pages created to solicit opt-in email addresses from prospective subscribers. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squeeze page
So as you can see, the idea behind these capture pages is to entice the person who is on the page to take some sort of action. Hopefully if the capture page is doing its job, the person will leave their information.
With many capture pages or squeeze pages the marketer or advertiser will ask the person to leave their information so that they can learn more about the opportunity or whatever it is that the squeeze page is promoting.
The squeeze page is designed to give just enough information so that the person viewing it wants to learn more or wants to get involved. The "call to action" on these pages is usually a pretty strong statement and is becoming more and more outlandish... primarily in the home/online business world where people say things like "$5,000 your first 16 days Guaranteed!". This is almost always a lie, but it gets your attention... at least until you have seen it a handful of times, at which point when you see one of these horrible squeeze pages you automatically tune it out.
The phrase "The money is in the list" is something most people hear after they have wasted tons of money on leads that have been sold to 13 different MLM hopefuls that are either about to quit the business or learn their lesson and start generating their own leads.
There is a lot of money in a good list that is for sure. The hurdle there is that the method in which you create the list is what determines whether or not the list is truly a good one for you. Find out how to target your audience and then you will have found out how to make your business successful.
