College Education... General education system

It is no wonder why there are not more people becoming successful from home. There is a lot of work that is involved in working your own business with virtually no staff and the world at your fingertips. It can be overwhelming.

What's more is the horrible reality of higher education. Through a few of my communication classes and business classes in college, there is no emphasis on learning how to be an entreprenuer, instead the focus is on finding a good job, learning what you want to do for an employer, get more education so you can get a better degree so you are able to get into a better company with a larger salary and better benefits.

What is the focus? It is being employed. What is wrong with that? Let me ask you a question that should answer this question.... What is wrong with indentured without the end result which is" the right of passage"? There is no end result with being employed unless you consider retiring from a job that you have to go to to survive a good end reult. How closely does being employed resemble inentured servitude? You have to come to work or else you will not get paid. You have to do your work or else you will be fired. You have to do what your boss wants you to do or else you will be let go.

Why is "being employed" something worth your time when you have the option to be "self-employed"? If you are self-employed then you make the calls, you reap the benefits and you make the difference. You could be another number for a company or you could be making an impact through your talents.

Now there is a lot to be said for gaining work experience for a time so that a person can understand how a certain business works. It is a great thing to have so many opportunities at our fingertips, however at some point in each persons journey through life they should take the reins and not rely on an employer for wages, benefits and a 401k. It is not employers who are holding us down and not letting us reach our full potential, it is ourselves that have not allowed our own departure from the rat race.

Higher education would benefit more people if the focus was more on how to become entrepreneurs, innovators, philanthropists and decision makers. The sheep herding methods that higher education offers should be remodeled.
